REP. PEÑA: A FINAL FAREWELL TO A FRIEND

It has been painfull to experience another loss. The good die young and we are left wondering- why? Today marks our final farewell to our friend Joe.

Our comfort lies in knowing that death is certain to us all; the only question is as to when. It is what we do with the time we are given that defines us. Did we choose to serve others and in turn choose to serve our God? I take comfort in knowing that Rep. Joe Moreno served God in the attention he gave to the least amongst us.

Death be not proud for The Book of Wisdom (Wisdom 4;7) has made it plain:

"The just man, though he die early, shall be at rest. For the age that is honorable comes not with the passing of time, nor can it be measured in terms of years. He pleased God and was loved and being made perfect in a short while he reached the fullness of a long career."

"For they shall see the end of the wise and just man, and shall not understand what God hath designed for him, and why the Lord hath set him in safety."

Be at rest my friend; until we meet again.
